I hope you all are having a great week! I am excited that the week is halfway over! (sorry for being so glass-half-empty but I am really looking forward to the weekend!)
I recently purchased an at-home UV Gel Polish system and I thought I would share this great find with you all on here!
The “system” that I purchased was a little bit of a hodgepodge because I decided to purchase a couple of different brands. I didn’t want to invest a ton of money in this until I was able to try out the polishes and see if they were as long lasting and great as advertised.
This light only allows for each individual finger to be “cured” at one time but it is really compact and it also came with a really great color of polish. There are other systems where you can put one or both hands in all at once to “cure” the polish, but without trying it out I didn’t want to invest too much money.
I also purchased an assortment of Sally Hansen Gel Polish to try out.
***This is actually a normal polish/gel top coat combo. I used 2 light coats of Essie Hide and Go Chic with the Gel Top Coat Placed and cured on top of it.***
So far I am very satisfied with my at-home gel manicure finds! The colors last a long time and they look pretty similar to the real thing! I do not think they are a replacement for the Salon Quality Shellac. They definitely seem to wear around the edges of the nail a bit more and I still don’t know if they have the staying power that you find at the salon. However this is a very cheap and easy alternative that definitely lasts longer than regular nail polish and has that Shellac-ed professional look! I am excited about how well my normal nail polish wears underneath the gel top coat! I am also going to purchase some of the CND Shellac and OPI Gelcolor professional nail polish to test out and see if the quality is even better with one of the “professional” brands. I will have to keep you guys updated on my finds!
Have any of you tried these at-home gel manicure systems? Do you have any favorite colors or brands?
I hope you guys have a great rest of the week!
